What is System Technology?
There is no universally accepted definition for system technology, as different industries have various products with different system solutions and projects. The term system technology generally refers to various assembly and connection techniques and is often used to describe technical products and systems.
System Technology in Machinery and Plant Engineering
System technology describes the integration of various distinct modules within a system, such as a plant or machine. This requires a combination of technical and project management skills. As a project expands into multiple areas, specialized expertise is needed to coordinate changes in individual fields for the benefit of the overall project.
System Solutions from LQ Group Examples of System Technology
The LQ Group offers system solutions in the field of installation technology. Specifically, these include: cable assemblies and cable harnesses, installation assemblies, fully equipped energy chains, and modular control cabinet construction. We manufacture systems according to your specifications and requirements and are completely flexible in doing so. At the customer's request, we organize all details of the machine installation: from planning, through design, assembly, procurement of all components, shipping on transport racks, to comprehensive service, and we handle manufacturers and suppliers. Our top priority is the satisfaction of our customers.
Cable Assemblies and Cable Systems
As a system supplier, LQ designs and manufactures cable assemblies and cable systems for various applications. This includes servo cables for Siemens and Bosch motors, power cables for asynchronous motors, frequency converters, and three-phase consumers, as well as signal and data cables. In addition to standard assemblies, machine-specific custom assemblies are produced upon request. The variety of raw cables and connectors ensures high flexibility. Each cable assembly is labeled with source/destination specific to the machine and delivered ready for installation. Finally, each cable assembly undergoes both visual and electrical testing.
In addition to cable assemblies, we also complete fully ready-to-install cable systems and deliver them on machine-specific transport racks. The production of these systems is carried out according to a specified parts list and in close consultation with the customer. Consolidating the system into a single material number significantly simplifies the goods receipt process for the customer.
Control Cabinet Construction
Depending on customer requirements and specifications, we develop, design, and assemble control cabinets in both standard and custom configurations. The focus is on the construction of modular control cabinets, where components are consolidated into complete functional modules and pre-assembled on a carrier plate. Modularizing control cabinets allows for decentralized control. The benefits of this concept include simplified installation, increased process reliability, and reduced assembly time. It’s as simple as hanging, connecting – and done. Before installation in the control cabinet, all modules undergo comprehensive testing and are delivered to the customer with a circuit diagram, layout, parts list, and 3D model. In the event of a malfunction, there's no need to search extensively for the faulty component. The entire functional module can be quickly and easily replaced.
Energy Chains
Manufacturing complete, ready-to-install energy management systems is one of LQ's core competencies. From feasibility studies and engineering to consulting on the use of connectors, cables, hoses, and mechanical components, everything is consolidated with a single point of contact. LQ offers a wide variety of solutions, from small series to complex multi-axis systems. Depending on requirements and application areas, energy chains vary in material (plastic or metal). Factors such as environmental conditions and the dynamic behavior of the chain in its later use are considered.
