Cables for mechanical engineering
Today, machine manufacturers face the challenge of reliably connecting electronic components in mobile machines, even under extreme conditions. Whether in the field, on a construction site, or in an industrial setting—shock, vibration, dirt, moisture, and extreme temperature fluctuations must not compromise the electronics. A single loose connection can cause costly downtime.
For LQ, this very reliability has always been a key quality feature. Connection solutions must be durable, mechanically robust, and resistant to dust, water, and chemicals—precisely because modern machines are increasingly networked and the number of interfaces is constantly rising. Strict technical standards are therefore essential: high IP protection ratings provide reliable protection against the ingress of water and dirt. Robust materials are also required to withstand high speeds, bending cycles in dynamic applications, and continuous vibration loads, such as those encountered in a machine tool.
Overmolding, particularly for unshielded cable assemblies, can reduce assembly errors and enable consistent sealing as well as faster and more cost-effective installation. Reliable cable assemblies are thus far more than mere connecting elements—they form the backbone of a functioning machine.
