A place to get hands-on and try things out
Hands-on learning at the new training warehouse at Erich Bracher School
A special milestone in the field of vocational training was celebrated at the Erich Bracher School in Kornwestheim on 8 April 2025. A celebration was held to open a new training warehouse for the next generation of logistics experts. As the LQ Group has been a long-term training partner, the company joined representatives from the fields of business, politics and education to mark such an important event for practical teaching of logistics skills.
The School’s Principal Oliver Schmider underlined the relevance of the project in his opening speech. “It is also important to get stuck in,” he said and he also emphasised the importance of the practical side of training. This is especially true in a field like warehouse logistics, where processes and workflows need to be learned and consolidated in a genuine working environment.
It is something special to have a training warehouse in a commercial school. This is only possible because of the partnership and collaboration between the School and companies that train young people. The aim is to provide the trainees with the best possible preparation for their future examinations but at the same time to give them an insight into actual working conditions.
Many of the companies that train the young people made an important contribution to establishing the training warehouse, as they provided the items to go in the warehouse. These have been specifically donated for training purposes and are documented on a central display board – and the LQ Group also appears there as one of the supporters.
Dietmar Allgaier, the District Chief Executive, also highlighted in his speech what an important profession logistics is for the country. He pointed out that, without warehouse logistics, the shelves would not be filled and there would be no online purchases. The future logistics experts received a clear message from this praise: your work is important – both today and in the future.
After the official part of proceedings, the guests could have a look at the new practice warehouse for themselves. At various points the trainees demonstrated typical tasks from their day-to-day work and thus provided a direct insight into their world of work.
The LQ Group supports initiatives such as these because the company is convinced of the benefits. As a company that has been training young people for many years, we know how important in-depth and practically based preparation for the world of work is and we are delighted to be a part of this pioneering project.
