On 17 May a health day was held for LQ Mechatronik-Systeme's employees in cooperation with the TK health insurance fund.

It's part and parcel of a day at work: office workers spend too much time sitting down and production workers carry out tasks that can cause repetitive strain. More than 80 percent of the population now suffer from back pain and tense muscles caused by stress and lack of exercise. LQ Mechatronik-Systeme wanted to take action against this and offered a health day on 17 May in conjunction with the TK health insurance fund. The theme for the day was "Experience health – boost resources" and many employees took the opportunity to test the health of their back.

An EMG muscle tone measuring device was used to measure strain in the shoulders and neck and the strength of the back and abdominal muscles was assessed as part of the back check. The team from the TK health insurance fund naturally had plenty of tips on how to improve posture and suggested exercises for every day.

Julia Picard, a trainee in her first year, coordinated the health day. "So that we stay on the ball after the health day, a medical fitness trainer will come to the company for two hours each week and she will offer a movement programme over several weeks." Apart from this, LQ has offered its employees free massages for many years now and everyone has access to water free of charge.
